Sparta vs. Athenian

I would rather be a Spartan than an Athenian. The carriage-style of a Spartan and an Athenian are vastly distinct and a womens role is closer to ours than the Athenians. The Spartans prise their women and they were held up with high regard; something that is vastly different than each other Greek city-state. Women film rights in Sparta similar to rights for women in our nation.
At a new-fangled age, women are raised more than differently than their Ancient Greek counterparts. The Spartans practiced formally educating their young women. This is something that I really value because of my personal love of didactics and thirst for knowledge. In Athenian culture womens schooling was basically how to take care of your future husband and house. In Sparta, women were able to own property and make financial decisions for themselves. In Athens, women had absolutely no rights and even if the property is of the womens family, she has no claim to it. This is completely against my core beliefs and I would not have lasted long there because of my constant protest of womens rights. This is something that I would have had no problem with in Sparta.
Being a Spartan woman, I would have been treated with dignity and respect.

I would have been able to walk the streets with my head held high and not seen as a woman, but as a Spartan. On the other hand, women are seen as a terrible life necessity needed to create men in Athenian culture. Athenians thought the women body to be disgusting and something to be hidden at all times; whereas, Spartans felt that the women figure was something of watcher and allowed them to show off their bodies however the individual women saw fit. During this time, Athenians believed in the ideal male figure and was infatuated with the look and encounter of the young male nude.
