The outsider looking in verses the insider looking out. Is it possible to be a musical composition of something and have no affiliation to it? Tayo the main character of the book has to agglomerate with this conflict. He was part snow-clad and part inbred American. He was trying to adapted in with both races without disrespecting the other. He struggled to try to stay neutral and find chemical equilibrium between both worlds. He was fractional white and half Native American. delinquent to the fact that these both groups didnt actually get along it was stark for Tayo to truly feel similar he was a part of both worlds.
