Almost ever culture has a romanticized period of bill that they feel is important to their culture. For China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam this time is the period of trine Kingdoms. The Three Kingdoms were Wei, Shu, and Wu. Although, this period of time was relatively short, it has been celebrated and popularized by operas, folk music stories, novels, and recently films, television serials, and video games (Three Kingdoms, 1). Although, the translation Three Empires is more than contextually accurate the term Three Kingdoms has become measuring among sinologists (Three Kingdoms, 1).
Many things led to the beginning of the Three Kingdom period.
