Gonzo news media is a style of news media which is written subjectively, very much including the reporter as part of the story via a starting person narrative. The style tends to blend factual and fictional elements to punctuate an underlying message and engage the reader. The name Gonzo was first apply in 1970 to describe an article by Hunter S. Thompson, who afterwards popularized the style. The term has since been applied to other subjective artistic endeavors.
