This cicatrix scheme is published as an aid to t individuallyers and candidates, to indicate the requirements of the examination. It shows the root word on which Examiners were instructed to award marks. It does non indicate the details of the discussions that took shopping centre at an Examiners meeting before marking began. (a) (i) State the type of atmospheric pollutant commonly caused by: carbon dioxide and methane greenhouse gases; accept global warming particulates prohibitionist acid deposition, photochemical smog [2]

(ii) Describe how acid pelting might affect the terrestrial and aquatic environments shown in Fig. 1.1. For 6 marks there should be three marks for each of terrestrial and aquatic environments.
