Human Nature
The quote Power tends to corrupt but right-down power corrupts absolutely by British Lord impostor is a literal expression of the human nature. This means that possessing a great amount of power, it, itself can be overpowering, and can vehemence a moral individual to act immorally through time. Throughout William Goldings novel the Lord of the Flies it clearly pageants three examples that power has the capability to cause eachbody to become egocentric and evil, thus immoral. The three examples are mans abomination of authority, mans self-cantered motives, and mans destruction of nature.
At the beginning of the novel were introduced to Ralph and Jack. These two young boys marooned on a deserted island, fighting with one some other to become the leader of the remaining boys on the island. As it is apart(predicate) of human nature that there will always be a dominant male/female figure in the group also known as the Alpha Dog.The important male is continually being tested to see if he remains dominant and may need to stage sky fights with upcoming males in a group to remain top dog.
In the human setting, the alpha male usually doesnt fight physically, but instead acts with language, rough or lowbred behaviour, or with other tactics to remain at the top.
In the novel Ralph is seen as the alpha dog of the group, as he is strong, attractive, and is well admired by all of the boys. One of the first gear things that he does on the island is to set up order in the group. He establishes that a simple seashell, naming it the conch , as an compulsory figure to the group, similar to a gavel in a courtroom. This conch is to display who is the leader of the group and thus as well keep open the peace within the group. Locke believed that the best form of government is democracy.
